If you’ve never planned a wedding before, you may not be aware of the amount of time necessary to create your invitations, save the dates and day of paper goods.

Any why would you? That’s where I come in–to help you save time and money on this kind of thing, so that you don’t have to spend your engagement stressing about the timeline.

Your engagement doesn't have to be stressful!

One of the crowd favorite posts on my blog has been my comprehensive wedding stationery timeline, which gives you all the details about when to send out the pieces and parts of your wedding stationery–from save the dates to thank you cards.

But aside from mailing out your stationery on time, when should you actually place your order so you get your invitations on time to assemble and mail them?

To answer this question, I’ve created a simple guide to help you keep up with when you should order your save the dates, invitations, and day-of paper goods so you have plenty of time to receive them and get them ready for mailing or setting up.

Why wedding stationery takes time

If you’re reading this and internally freaking out thinking “I’m totally behind on all of this,” first of all, take a deep breath. My main goal is to help you through this time of your life, not make things more stressful! (you also might want to read this post on what to do if you’re behind on your timeline)

The reason behind this timeline is simple: good things (design included) take time. It takes thought, testing, preparation, and conversation with brides for calligraphers to create invitations that you really love.

My heart as an invitation designer is to tell the story of you. I want to make something that isn’t just average, but something that wows your guests. That means I want to get to know your story, understand exactly what you’re looking for, and have time to tweak the designs until they are perfect for you.
